What is Sublimation

About Custom Sublimation:

Custom dye sublimation printing is a full color, full-coverage printing technique. Your artwork is printed onto a sheet of high-release paper and transferred onto your garment using heat and pressure. The dye particles convert into gas — known as sublimation — where they bond to the polyester fibers. Unlike screen printing, the dye is absorbed by the fabric for a fantastic vibrant, soft-to-the-hand feel. After the garment is dyed, it is cut out and sewn together. It is how rugby tops, for instance, are created. The ink goes into the material and cannot be felt at all when you brush your hand over it, unlike screen printing. It is extremely durable and creative – no design or color restrictions. No extra costs for more colors.  With custom dye sublimation, the possibilities are endless!

  • Single-Sided Prints will show the bare garment color on the non-printed side.

  • Smudges & White Streaks near edges, seams and collars are normal.

  • Design Within These Limitations by strategically placing patterns or graphics near problem areas.

  • Shifting On Press up to 2″ is normal. Prints are not able to be aligned front-to-back.

  • Multiple Templates. Include print files for every garment size in your order. Garments do not size-up evenly.

  • Beware of Web Images! High-quality prints require artwork that’s at least 150 dpi.
